Celebrated in 1987 for its unique design by the New York
Museum of Modern art where it was displayed, and for its unique audio quality
by worldwide audio enthusiasts who bought one of the 50 pairs then produced,
the Goldmund Apologue stands forever as a major milestone in Goldmund history.
25 years later, Goldmund is paying a tribute to this
extraordinary product by issuing a Limited Series of 25 Goldmund Apologue
Anniversary with an exactly identical design but with all the technological
progress made by the company during those 25 years.
The 1987 edition of the Apologue was a 3-way passive
speaker. The Apologue Anniversary comes with twice as much drivers and built-in
amplification totalizing 3600W for a pair.
To this extreme power, Goldmund added the latest signal
corrections developed by Goldmund Fundamental Research Department. If it is
scientifically correct to say that the Apologue Anniversary is 100% corrected
both in amplitude and phase, providing for the first time a “perfect response”
from a pair of Speakers, we prefer to look at the technical achievements in
this model from another angle. We do not develop technologies or manufacture
equipment just for the sake of it.
Our ultimate objective and reward is to create emotions.
We believe that the more perfect the sound reproduction, the
more intense these emotions will be. So we focus on the results the
technologies we develop can provide in this sense. These are listed below:
Each instrument is positioned at its correct place,
Complete stability of the image,
Perfectly well defined trebles,
Extremely neat bass,
Ultra high definition and precision in the voices,
Higher playback levels without distortion,
No fatigue to the listener, even at extremely high levels.
To the perfection of the sound, we also wanted to add the
highest level in the design, ease of use and installation.
The signal feeding the Apologue Anniversary is
sent exclusively wirelessly, so the 2 speakers of a Stereo System can be presented
without any cable, except for an AC plug that can be installed below the
speaker. So the superb design, with all its details can be admired by walking
around the speakers, a possibility usually dangerous due to connecting cables.

Frank Acoustics is the first company to release a downsized
commercially available consumer grade industrial shunt reactor into a domestic
sized power conditioner package suitable for any home based Hi-fi audio or AV
systems as well as critical audio processing equipment in recording studios.
The Product is known as Frank Ultra Bank UB-25000Ws and Frank Power Bank
The shunt reactor is an absorber of reactive power, thus increasing the energy efficiency of the system. It is the most compact device commonly used for reactive power compensation in long high-voltage transmission lines and in cable system. Frank Acoustics has modified this system using a proprietary system for domestic abodes. The Frank Power Bank Storage component is essentially a scaled down version of this unique system for maintaining AC power to your Hi-fi system.
It is impossible not to notice the ‘new
blue’ speaker towering over you as you step into the room. In a high gloss
spray paint finished, this Pacific Reference speakers – a 4-piece configuration
- demand attention. Equally attention seeker is this world first counter
rotation dual platters turntable called KRONOS Reference Turntable. With both
the platters rotating at opposite direction is a very unusual sight, it gives
one a sense of something so uniquely different from the rest of the turntables.
Amplification is by Magnet with Nagra phono and pre front end. The treacherous
power in hotel environment is handled by 4 pieces of Frank Power Bank that
provide unimpeded power supply from the power reservoir they formed. All cables
are using the mighty Skogrand cables from Norway which I am also using – a
cable that I considered to the best cables I have ever come across. The system
seems to be quite “ready” for any kind of music thrown at it in the sense that
it adheres closely to the dynamic of the music closely. This is especially
apparent in the rise and falls or swing of big band music of Duke Ellington
that Louis Desjardins care to demonstrate; a poor recorded piece makes it
sounded quite listenable with all the right attributes of spatial and context
information that allow one to be transported to the typical music scene of that
era. It is also especially comfortable playing the extended version with
electronic mixed entitled “Honey” by Mariah Carey; that the continuous thumbing
of the electronic bass and the constant changes, the variables found in the mix
shows absolutely no trace of hesitation or has any pitch issue; it just sail
through picking up all the ups and downs, starts, stops in the music. Louise
said that the music makes him wanted to dance and he pick those words out of my
inner bones! As if Louise thought that I was not impress enough, he, at the end
of the demo, took out his i-phone with vibration measuring App, he put it on
one of the four corner posts which shows acceleration readings of the vibration
caused by the pounding Honey track of Mariah Carey. What freak me out is when
he put the phone on the upper plate of Kronos Turntable which shows absolutely
zero reading! This is so wired!
